We're men, we're men in tights...
Things you Merry-folks should know
Being a member of Robin Hood
Be polite, be merry, and most important of all, be helpful. If a newbie asks for your help don't be frustrated if he/she appears to be a bit on the brusque side unless he/she was downright rude. It's more likely they just don't understand yet how things work and aren't sure how to ask for help. Other than that, the DWMUD etiquette still applies and is still the general guideline in behaviour.
All members are also encouraged to promote the club by exposing it to newbies and prospective members alike, be it by word of mouth, calling cards or via town criers.
Club
house & inventory
The club house is located at 2d Peach Pie Street. To get there from the Thieves' Guild Carriage stop, go 1s, 2e, 1n, 1e, 1se (need small brass key with serial number 9136902). All members are welcome to enter and use the club house but please do not touch anything in it until you have been allowed control of the room or you may risk yourself getting heavied by the Thieves' Guild (it'll count as unlicenced stealing in AM, or stealing from a fellow thief if you are one). Members who wish to be 'allowed' and receive a duplicate key will have to ask the person who recruited them to send a referral to Amade on their behalf for screening purposes.
Club inventory are divided into three categories: Newbie Equipment, Junk and Club Use. Newbie equipment are usually inexpensive-midrange stuff that are collected and meant for dispensation to newbies as listed in the Equipments section of the site. Expensive stuff that were donated by club members or other players but not very usable to newbies are to be kept temporarily until it can be disposed off by any players with high ot.va.tr.** for money into the club funds. Things that qualify as junk are: stuff you can easily scrounge off the streets or lift from general shops and of not much use to a newbie. Things that are for Club Use are generally entertainment/leisure/TM-catalyst stuff that are kept around in the club house for amusement or general idling. Please take good care of these items as they belong to all members communally. Please do not take these items out of the club house without due permission.
Please take some time to properly store any donated items in the club house. Weapons should be placed in containers in clearly marked chests (if they have a scabbard along with it, place it in the scabbard first and place it in the storage space. Do NOT place it inside any other wearable containers unless they are part of a kit). All clothing articles, armour and similar items should be placed in the bedroom area. Miscellaneous and small items are to be stored in the kitchen area of the club house. *IMPORTANT* Only put things on a table if storage space has run out, and only if the item in question is particularly useful or of high value. Otherwise, there's no need to have huge surpluses of ordinary items in the club house. And please refrain from wasting storage space with silly and useless items. Bear in mind that we are stocking items that are of use to newbies or have high resale value that can be put into the club coffers. If the club inventory has run out of space, you may take some of the surplus items for yourself or sell/fence them and put the proceeds into the club coffers.
You may leave your pets in the club house for safe-keeping/shelter, but do take care to not leave your dragons with other dragons as they may fight with each other and get themselves killed. The Club will not accept any responsibility for the loss of a pet left inside the club house.
Financials
Feel free to put in money into the club coffers at the club control room in the Patrician's Palace (or similar rooms in other major cities). Currently, the club only needs to pay 50 dollars plus 50 pence per member every RW month and a further 350 dollars every DW month for the club house rent. With around a hundred members to date, we need around of 1200 AM dollars per RW month for the upkeep of the club. So, if at least each member can deposit at least 50 dollars into the account, we only need 24 members to do so and I should think that's not too hard for all to do. The club does not force its member to put money into its coffers, it's strictly voluntary, no sharp edges held near your throats, really.
