About Me

My name is Mathew Walls. I'm currently 24, living in Melbourne and working in a call centre. I spend a lot of time on the internet and watching TV. This website, as you are probably already aware, is mostly about the Discworld MUD, with a few other random bits thrown in because I can't be bothered creating a separate site for them.

If you have any questions, comments, requests, suggestions or other feedback about anything on this site, send me an email. You can also send submissions for my quotes page if you like, but these days you're probably better off to just submit them to quotes@frimble because they'll get added much quicker there and it's a great site that I'd really like to see take off properly. Unless they're really long, in which case, send them to me because my site is better suited to those.

If you want to contact me in real time, you can usually find me on the MUD as Wallsy, or if I'm not there you're welcome to try on IRC. I'm usually on irc.foonetic.net on the #xkcd-signal channel and selene.pgpl.net on the #wharrgarbl channel. In both cases my usual nick is "Tiggum".

You can also contact me via IM if you like, but I seldom bother logging on any more, and if I'm on there I'm probably on the MUD or IRC anyway. But if you want to add me to your contacts, here are my details:
MSN: mathew.walls@gmail.com
ICQ: 135999973
AIM: tggmdelacroix
Y!M: mathew_walls
GT: mathew.walls@gmail.com
LJT: wallsy@livejournal.com

The section below is about my Discworld characters and is mostly out of date, but feel free to read it anyway. I'm not going to try to stop you.

My Characters

Descriptions

You see Energetic Wallsy the Musclebound Thug.
He is a dirty, scarred and rough-looking Morporkian man
He looks to be about 13 great-years old (about 30 RW years), well muscled and very fit. He moves with grace, and somehow manages to appear to be looking down on everyone, despite his lack of height.
He is in good shape.
He is not an npc.
He is glowing brilliantly red.
Wearing : a pair of black soft-soled boots, a pair of grey leather gloves, a grey leather cloak and a coal black dragonhide eyepatch.

You see Miss Selenia the Vegetable Slayer of the Ankh-Morpork Palace Guard.
She is an incredibly dark-skinned old woman.
She was probably quite tall in her youth, but age has reduced her stature somewhat. Nevertheless, she looks incredibly strong and could probably still move quite fast if she needed to.
Wearing : a pair of black soft-soled boots, a pair of jet black dragonhide gloves, a midnight black leather trench coat, a black wide-brimmed hat and a pair of dark shades.

You see Old Man TGGM of the Ancient and Truly Original Sages of the Unbroken Circle, the Fourth Level Wizard.
He is about 170-180cm tall (almost 6 foot) and in his late seventies. His wings are covered in white feathers and are folded up onto his back. He is by no means the stereotypical fat wizard, but it's obvious that he doesn't exercise as regularly as he might. He is usually smiling at nothing in particular.
Wearing : a pair of stylish shiny white shoes with silver trimming, a pair of white snakeskin gloves, a white snakeskin cloak, a sequinned wizard's hat and a pair of mirrored sunglasses.
Carrying: a carved elephant tusk.

You see Mystic Mathew of the Venerable Council of Seers, the Fourth Level Wizard.
He is a thin man in his forties and seems generally healthy, but certainly not fit. His hair is cut short, and mostly hidden by his hat. He usually looks fairly relaxed and content.
He is floating here.
He has a small metal shield floating around him.
He is hovering in mid-air.
Wearing : a pair of black leather shoes, a sage green basiliskhide cloak, a pointy wizard's sea green velvet hat with sequins, a gold ring and a scholar's ring.

You see Mystic Methew of the Last Order, the Fourth Level Wizard.
He is an Agatean man in his fifties. His clothes are a bit messy and his hair keeps falling in his eyes. He doesn't seem particularly remarkable. He seems to have let his beard get a bit scruffy and he has a slight octarine glow, possibly from over-exposure to thaumatugical radiation¹.
He is sitting.
He looks pretty unusual, probably due to missing an arm from his standard left arm socket.
He has an Ephebian round shield floating around him.
Holding : a red staff (right hand).
Wearing : a pair of black soft-soled boots, a black trenchcoat, a wizard's pointy hat, a black dragonhide eyepatch, a snake ring, a gold hoop earring and a silver ring.
His purse is tinkling with coins.

You see Tiggum the Follower of Sek.
He is a strapping young human lad.
He is a healthy, cheerful boy of about 15. His appearance and demeanor make him seem helpful and trustworthy.
Wearing : a pair of soft leather sandals, a white cotton robe, a wooden bracelet, a holy amulet and a pair of reading glasses.
Carrying: a prayer book and a holy symbol.

¹ The italicised section is coloured octarine and only visible to those who can see octarine light, ie. witches, wizards and those with access to the appropriate ritual.

More Info

TGGM, Mathew and Methew are wizards, Selenia and Wallsy are warriors and Tiggum is a priest. I have previously played characters in all the guilds, and my list of deleted characters includes Thuurz (war), Mirri (wit/thi), Tiggles (thi), Crovax (ass) and Selenia and Mathew have both been refreshed, Selenia originally being a witch and Mathew originally an assassin.

I have most experience as a wizard and warrior and never lasted more than a few hours of playtime as either a thief or witch. My assassin characters have each lasted a couple of days playtime. My previous attempt at a priest lasted only a few hours but my current priest character is almost 4 days old.

My current main character is Wallsy, and when online I can usually be found in the general store on Filigree. I have autoteach on, so you can come and learn skills from me any time. If you want to learn commands, ask, because I have an alias for teaching them all (I can't teach them all, but it will give you all the ones I'm able to teach you at the time).

If you're interested in knowing what my bonuses are before coming to see me, check Flatline's site. I update after every time I spend xp, so it stays pretty up-to-date.

I'm also currently a newbie helper, so if you have any questions about how to do anything in the game I'll do my best to help you, or at least point you to someone who can.

I've also won several awards in my time here, including Best Roleplayer, In Need of a Clue (twice), Talker Addicted (four times), Best Troll (three times), Board Addicted ond Least Helpful Player.

If you have any questions about me or my site, you can talk to me on the MUD or email me. I will read MUDmail too, but I'd prefer you not use that as it's much less convenient.
