Candle

Candles are small, portable light sources. They are generally cheap to buy and in plentiful supply. Lighting a candle causes you to hold it, and unhold it causes it to go out.

Candles can be used as:
- A light source.
- A non-consumed spell component for Sageroff's Sentry Summoning; a consumed spell component of Effermhor's Hypersonic Assault.
- A partially-consumed ritual component for Unquiet Spirit and Mama Blackwing's Potent Preserver (candle must be lit for ritual/spell and will burn down slightly in the time it takes to perform it).
- Occult paraphernalia for helping witches perform the circle command (only dark red candles can be used at first; at higher bonuses any candle works).

Candles can be found in the following locations:
- Granny Weatherwax's cottage (white candles)
- Various shops (see below)
They can also be made directly from wax and candle wicks in Wee Flaudia's cottage.
