This is a flat cap made out of a delightful check-patterned material. It's the sort of thing you'd expect an old person who says "Eee" and talks about "the good old days" a lot to wear all the time, even in bed.

The flat cap is about six inches long and about six inches wide. It is made of cotton and looks like you could wear it.

- The flat cap increases the wearer's intelligence by 2 and wisdom by 3.
- The flat cap decreases the wearer's strength by 3.

After it has been worn for about 1 - 2 minutes, the flat cap will start to inflict an increasingly severe headache on the wearer. This translates into hitpoint damage which, if ignored for long enough, can eventually kill the wearer.
The flat cap's hitpoint damage follows a geometric progression[1]: it initially deals 1hp damage, then 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, and so on. The damage is almost unnoticable at first, but eventually becomes impossible to overcome.
The damage effect is stopped immediately on removing the flat cap; when worn again it resets to its 1hp damage setting.
Death message:
Lexx Rehevkor goes rigid in sudden pain and cries out loud. Lexx Rehevkor dies.
