This spell is taught by Granny Weatherwax and Aunty Ogg-San.

This spell costs 70 GP to cast. It is not cast on a target.

This spell requires a piece of clay and a smelly seed. Both are consumed.
[edit] Additional casting effects
Casting this spell will temporarily drain 1 point of intelligence for approximately 15 minutes. Sometimes, when wearing a bronze helm to boost stats, it didn't leave a penalty.
Failing the spell temporarily drains 3 points of intelligence for approximately 2 minutes, but it can sometimes last for about 6 to 12 minutes, especially if your stats were already drained by previous casts.[research]
If you keep casting the spell it sometimes reset the penalty to -1 int after 2 minutes, but sometimes it takes 15 minutes to elapse.
These stat effects can be removed by a priest performing Restore.

- Casting
You prepare to cast Gammer Shorga's Clever Creeper. You whisper to the seed, convincing it that conditions are perfect for growing. As a small shoot appears in the seed and roots start to form, you quickly shape the piece of potter's clay into a rough ring. Roots start to take hold in the clay and you deftly weave the shoot around the ring. You fix the ring with your stare and awaken it, imbuing it with some of your intelligence. The ring seems to gain some sort of awareness.
Note that the awareness line appears at the same time as the previous line, a few seconds before the casting is complete, easily seen if you queue something after the casting. Furthermore it is present on failure. Thus it is not the success line. This might be a bug, reported.
- What others see
Caster whispers to a smelly seed. As a small shoot appears and roots start to form, Caster shapes a piece of potter's clay into a rough ring. Caster deftly weaves the shoot around the ring as roots take hold in the clay. Caster fixes the ring with her gaze.

- Failure
You give too much of yourself to the ring, gifting it with super-intelligence! It suddenly realises that it could be doing better things and rolls away to freedom.
