This is a thick leather shirt which has been reinforced underneath by thousands of tiny hexagonal mail links. A thin layer of wool has been sewn over the mail to protect the skin from chafing.

The hexagonally-linked kikko is about a foot and a half long and a couple of inches wide. It is made of iron and could be worn as armour.
