The magic.methods subtree comprises the skills used in the stages of spells.
[edit] Usage
Each magic.methods skill describes a particular action associated with a stage of a spell. For example, the magic.methods.physical subtree describes physical actions (such as dancing or brewing), while the magic.methods.mental subtree describes cerebral actions (such as charming or cursing).
[edit] Application
Most of the skills under this tree are used to determine whether a particular spell succeeds or fails, based on a simple skillcheck against the relevant skill.
In some cases, however, the skill can also determine an aspect of the final effect of the spell. For example, magic.methods.physical.enchanting determines the degree of enchantment imparted by Mother Twinter's Yarrow Enchantment, while magic.methods.mental.animating determines the number of vines summoned by Gammer Shorga's Helpful Undergrowth.
